Tektronix TDS420

Hi,

I`m having trouble with the TDS420 scope power supply. It seems tektronix is
not servicing it anymore, and not willing to give power supply
schematics...so I guess this is my last piece of Tek equipment :-(

Anyone having the schematics of the low voltage power supply or know some
problems of this unit ?

Any help would be veeeeery much appreciated !

TEK never put schematics in any public manuals for any of the TDS series
scopes.The line is intended for module-exchange service only.

The supplies were purchased products,not made by TEK,BTW. If you can find
the real manufacturer,perhaps you can get a schematic from them.

TEK does provide schematics for some of their scopes, I managed to get
the technical manual for my TDS340 scope. Full schematics of all of
the PCBs along with parts lists and component placement diagrams, even
for the option board. No schematics for the PSU though!

OK,a correction;
TEK -did- provide some schematics/service documentation for TEK scopes
purchased by the US military,required by the purchase contracts.
That may be the only way to get them for TDS scopes.
FYI,not even the TEK service centers (when they were still around)got
schematics for the TDS scopes except for the first models,like you did.
That was solely as a training aid,I believe.

And perhaps it may be different outside the US,too.
(different business practices/regulations?)
