Tektronic 2235 scope agida

got it on ebay but does not power up--i have a basic knowsledge of electoics like i can use a scope and dvm--im getting the cd service manual ( when i do i will post it here )

i now there are test points on the board and i plan to do this
unplugged!!
1. see if there is a fuse in it or if the fuse is broken
2. take it apart
3, see if the power switch works --hook ohm meter across it.
4. using a magnifier scrutinize all surfaces of board and general visual check up
if all is ok
here is where i need help

using the service manual--check voltage ( using my digital dvm--solid state one) of all test points and check them off--what is best way to do this?--mark with marker on board say with a red marker that which i tested ? or?
ay direction here would be helpful

Sounds like an ok plan & sequence.
Testpoints are for use with power on.
Start with checking the power supply voltages.
Using a marker like that is pointless, just write the results on a paper instead.
