  1. Anybody have any experience with the vertical deflection circuit of this
    model? A friend has one with both channels almost dead (just a touch of
    vertical deflection) and the traces are below the center line with little
    impact by the vertical positioning controls. A dejanews search turned up a
    chap in the UK with the exact same symptoms but no resolution to his problem
    was ever posted. Thanks!

    Does your friend have a 465B service manual? That would be a good start.
    The circuit description is very useful.

    The problem is probably in the vertical output amp,inside the center
    'tunnel' of the chassis,towards the rear.Maybe a blown output IC.
    Check to see if the +50V(+55V?) is getting to the output termination
    resistors,big 7W non-inductive WW resistors.
