This amp is in mint condition but powers down after 2- 10 mins, even with the speaker disconnected ?
I know this is a common fault for this system, does anyone know how to solve it please. The system is in great condition otherwise.

Run it from cold, with the volume control at minimum, with a multimeter, set to the 300 mA or 10A range, connected in series with one of the speakers, and see whether the current starts to creep up before the amp shuts down. If there's no significant current, repeat the test from cold with the multimeter on the other speaker. If you see the current creeping up (positive or negative) this tells you the nature of the problem - DC on the output(s).

Then you need to find the cause. My guess is temperature, based on your description. After it has shut down, while it's still warm, unplug and replug it and turn it on, and see how long before it shuts down again. If it doesn't run for very long, it's almost certainly a heating problem. Power it down and check with your fingers for any hot components, especially ones with three or more connections to them. Also if you have a can of Rapid Freeze, try to use that to identify the problem component.

But first, as Dave said, Google for it. If it's a known issue for that model, there will be plenty of information available.
