Switch closing to pulse

I need a circuit that will generate one pulse (any thing from a few mili seconds to 2 seconds will do) when a NO switch is closed. Alternatively, will generate one pulse when a NC switch is opened. The pulse may be positive or negative. I can invert it as necessary.
