    Hello recommendations-

    The task at hand with the question:

    Control a bipolar stepper motor Imax=1.8A, Resolution is .45deg, V=24vdc
    The question is what type of microprocessor?

    inputs to decide the control of the stepper are:
    1. Variable frequency square wave
    2. Feedback from the steppers pot for angle reference
    3. 2 signal inputs for shut off safety

    1. Of course signal to driver ckt for stepper
    2. Driver for a relay coil 300mA max.. can build external I carrier

    The micro should be able to rewrite program. The stepper will only sweep +90deg back to 0 deg. I think max 0 to 90deg in about 250mS
    I would like to use a pic 16f88.

    Any experience/knowledge/ideas with this would be helpful. Thanks

    A 16F88 should be able to handle it.
