Ok guys, this has never been fi ished and i still have the amp and all components, also a bit more knowlage and better equipment including a small workshop/ shed, if anyone is still i terested i am going to reprint all the schematics and get this thing on the bench once again, i have to be honest, after chris passed i completely lost interest, but i cant bring myself to bin it, its been carted from house to house and garage to garage but 99%sure everything is still in the box, including all the parts i bought to replace, so guess i have no option but to try again, as its xmas i have some time off and have some time to re read where we all left off, i will be back soon with an update, although this may take me some time as its been quite a journey so far thanks,

Pete

Hello,

You can shrink the photos to a size of about 100 kB.
Then you can upload the photos to the forum using the "Upload a File" button.

So i decided it would be a good idea to reconnect all the cables and power it up for the first time in a long time,
Its alive, no protect lights on and the fan is running, honestly dont think this was far from completion, the main drivers are still removed though 20201229_144254.jpg 20201229_144303.jpg

So where do we go feom here, i am tempted to install the main drivers and see what happens, although i have no real way to know if it actually works, as in no load, (speakers or connectors) and l also need to disassemble the heatsink and clean it propperly from where i blew it up last time, oh and also still need thermal paste ha

At the very least I'm going to have to go back and read the thread again. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to do that right away.

Bit of clean up work today, heatsink was still filthy, also Q12 was a bit loose, on closer inspection half the tracks on the board were partly missing or came away, here is my fix, if there is a better way to do this please let me know, it was a pain 20201230_143837.jpg 20201230_141246.jpg 20201230_143102.jpg

So now all cleaned up and back together, some re soldering done, and fot the first time one of the fuse resistors has blown and lit up, T17, and fault left light is back on, i think i have fixed the bad solder joints and recreated the original fault , at least its an indication where to look next, 20201230_160857.jpg 20201230_160906.jpg

Realised today after cleaning and re soldrring i disnt have the positive lead connected to the left channel, thats why it seemed to be ok ,when it is connected it blows T17 fuse so it seams there is a dead short somewhere on that side

Are the output transistors new?
Have you checked them for shorts?.
This has a few pages to read up on. But was working without output transistors?.
