SSR or triac for 12VAC control

I want to control doorbell solenoids (12VAC low current, highly
inductive) from microcontroller logic (5V TTL or 3.3V CMOS, a few mA
available); is there an economical SSR or triac for this function, or
is it best left to electromechanical relays?

depending on the current, check out MOC3020 opto triac
