I have a spindle motor with a dead spot. (high X CD-ROM combo) It has
a 10 wire or so connection. As what I can meassure it has 3 windings
of 15 Ohms each.

As what I can find out from the FAQ this kind of motor has no
commutator but has a circuit which controls the signals to each
winding to get it turning. Am I right ?

Can a dead spot still be a motor problem with this kind of motor ? How
?

The flex cable is meassuring ok, and the bearings are fine.

My guess would be that it has 3 sensors (Hall effect?) and one of them,
associated wiring, or circuitry is bad.
