Hi,

I am looking for a DB9 connector similiar to the one on this page:
http://www.cloudcaptech.com/crista_imu.htm
and also a vertical one. Anyone have some digikey part numbers for these?
There are about 238 parts listed at digikey for DB9 D-Sub connectors, and
I'm not sure which to pick but I would like one that takes up as little
space as possible! Thanks for any tips.

cheers,

Dunno about the US but Toby in the UK stock them: www.toby.co.uk

Maybe they'll tell you who the manufacturers are so that you can find
a local stockist, or perhaps digikey will recognise the part numbers?

Based on the picture in the link, I'm guessing you want the female
(socket) connector. One like this is available from Kycon
(K202HT-E9S-N). It is a non-stocked item at Mouser. Note: The part
number I've shown is a surface mount connector.

Otherwise you can look up other manufacturers (3m, amp, amphenol,
cinch, fci, hirose, ITT Cannon, Molex, etc.) and use the above part
number as a competitive cross-reference (most connector manufacturers
have this as a search option). Each manufacturer's web site also will
list their distributers so you can figure out where to buy parts.

Happy hunting.

Be sure that while you're taking up as little space as possible,
you're not making it so tight that a connector won't fit.
I once bought a KVM switch where they'd saved so much space that I
had to file down the sides of the video cables to get 'em plugged in.
