I'm rigging a work shed for photovoltaic ... the usual fluorescent lights,
drop cords, cordless drill chargers, and the like. It isn't an 8-hour a
day, 5 days a week thing, but more like a couple of hours twice a week.

So far, the best prices I see on solar panels, inverters, and load
controllers are either Great Plains Supply and/or Harbor Freight. I'm not
all that shot up about Harbor Freight as you can never count on them having
the same product from month to month if you want to duplicate the system
somewhere else.

What sources do you all recommend for solar supplies?

This outfit has competitive (but not necessarily lowest) prices, good
selection, and competent help http://store.solar-electric.com/.
This one sometimes has the lowest prices, seconds etc, but service may
be slow http://www.sunelec.com/Distributors_/Trace/outback1trace.html.
These guys have been around for a while

A few other links I had on file

Google is NOT your friend if you are looking for recommendations. Every
schlock shop in the world selling crap at high prices comes up. I was
hoping for first-hand recommendations.

Jim,
I have dealt with affordable solar and Sunelco.
Sunelco is a little more expensive but the service is much better.
www.sunelco.com
homepower.com is a good source for "local" companies.
Check out RE directory on the right side. You very likely will find a
local shop.
They also have a good magazine.
Michelle yup I fly too.
