I'm trying to design a Sound to Light (or Colour Organ) circuit which receives audio signal and translates its variable frequencies into a channel of three LED's.

The low pass filter should cut off at 250Hz. The band pass filter should dislay frequencies between 300-400Hz. The high pass filter should display freuencies above 700Hz. I have been given a list of components to use for this project, they are as follows:
- NXP Semiconductors TDA1308 Dual Amplifiers PDlP & SIOIC
- ST Microelectronics 15924 Quad Op Amp in SIOC only
- 78Lo5 5v 1oomA regulator IC
- BC108 General Purpose small signal BJis
- Red, Green & Blue super LEDs Farnell 2431415 2431406 2431409 or equivalent
- Electret Microphone 1502742 Farnell
- 1M9 & 1oKQ presets
- 2.5mm and 3.5mm jack plugs and sockets
- Audio coaxial cable
- Stripboard,wire and solder
- DlL 1C Sockets
- Capacitors and Resistors as required

The design should use as few components as possible in order to keep the price down.

Could anyone advise me on how the TDA1308 amplifier can be used in this circuit?
The filter design of this circuit is simple but I could do with some help on how I can use the amplifier and voltage regulator.
Thanks.

The TDA1308 can be used like an operational amplifier - with some trade-offs as it is not primarily designed as such. Therefore you can use it as amplifier to increase the signal level, as the active element in the filters etc.
