My 3 year old son inserted a paper clip into one of the front A/V jack
the front of the set and seemed to have shorted out something. The se
shut off and will not go back on. Is there a fuse of some kind that ca
be replaced, or is the TV doomed

Spank the 3 year old and get an estimate made for the set by a reputable repair
professional.

It's not likely a power supply problem. That I can say with some confidence.
But if it's a problem with the SYSCON, it might cost $$$. - Reinhart

The set can be serviced. The paper clip probably shorted something and did
some damage to the system controller, or some other components inside.

You will have to get the set properly serviced.
