Hi. Thanks for the many replies to my question. Let me tell you what I did
find. I tried everything suggested, still ran hot. After more testing, diode
D648 shorted violently, killing choppers and resistor. I ordered 6 of this
from Sony for testing if nothing else. I could find no cross on it.
Anyway, after this diode was replaced, set has run just fine for 3 days. I
believe its ready to go home.
Choppers run pretty warm, but nothing like they had. First time I've had one
of these give this much of a fight.
