Sony KV-35S26 TV Diagonal Lines

Hello all, I just got channels added to my Comcast basic package. Now
when I view channels above 55 I have a lot of diagonal noise on my
Sony KV-35S26 TV. I just had the power supply replaced recently
(circuit board) so I don't know if that has anything to do with this
problem. When I watch these channels through my VCR via the RF cable I
don't have any problem. I tried the same cable that is going to the
VCR and that didn't fix it so I know it's not the cable. I should also
mention I'm not using a cable box the cable goes straight to the TV
off of a splitter. None of the other sets hooked to the splitter are
getting this just my Sony. I hope I'm not confusing anyone I'm not the
best writer :) Any suggestions would be appreciated.

TIA
Kirk

It is possible that the tuner in the Sony set is defective, or for some
reason it is picking up some radiated interference due to a combination of
things.

If you run the Sony set directly on the cable without the splitter, does it
get the interference? If it does, try another splitter. The frequencies
used are very critical, and there are many factors that can cause problems.
I have seen some of these fixed, by just changing the length or the type of
cable used to feed a set.

If you are on a cable service (I am not familiar with Comcast), ask if a
service tech can come with a spectrum analyser to check the cable feed. If
there is any problem, he most likely will see it.

If all you try does not work, then the next step is to have a TV service
tech check the set for you, to determine where the defect is. These types of
problems are usually in the IF, or tuner section.

Why not run the set with an external decoder device that can feed it
baseband video? This would be the best way to watch the set.
