Hi all,

I am looking for a pcb solderable single barrier terminal strip ie.
like digikey part# WM5738-ND
http://rocky.digikey.com/WebLib/Molex/Web Photos/38720-6202.jpg

This is only 0.375" pitch though, does anyone know of a larger single row
terminal strip that is solderable to a pcb? I'm using these to screw down
high current ring terminals, with a max current of 50Amps or so.

cheers,
Jamie Morken

30 Amps is the most I have seen. When I had to provide for more,
I had a bronze strap made and sweat soldered it to the board with
a 3/16 inch by 24 bronze bolt for a fastener.
Works and allowed the paths on the board to be lower resistance
since I positioned the high current switch outputs to be quite
near the strap.

How about Broaching Type Studs that are made for that purpose.

These didn't work for me.
Limited to about 30 amps too, buy contact area and thickness of
the (2oz plated up to 3oz) board. But in Pairs they might.

Molex currently markets the older Beau series of products. These are
rated to 45A.

Normally, higher current terminations will shed the thermoplastic, as
this is a major limitation in developing reliable mechanical and
thermal performance.

Independently swaged studs or larger OD swaged threaded terminals are
a common solution, if you insist on using a single wire and ring
terminal. This makes the PCB FR4 material the weak mechanical link.

Normally you'd try to pick the 50A off of the printed wiring at
multiple redundant points before the single terminal connection - say
4 x#6 pick-off to a threaded insert, in metal.

The problem is the ring terminal interconnection method.
