I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but here it goes anyway.
I am going to start dabbling into electronics and want to start out making something I can uses. It will motivate me to complete it.
I'm going to build a solar charger using some flexible solar panels. 5 Volt maybe 2 amps. Something which can charge smartphones and camera batteries.
The biggest problem I have is that I have no idea about the circuitry component. That is the power regulator attached to the panels. It will have to take a USB connection, maybe even a couple, and I was also thinking along the lines of varying the voltage if it's possible. Maybe it's not?
So in the end I want to have a sheet of solar panels and a regulator / power supply or whatever you call it, I can plug my phone or camera battery into (via a usb port) to charge the phone.
How do I start to learn about how to make such a circuit, or are they already available on the internet? I've just got no idea where to start but this is where all my projects (not just electronic) start and it's worked in the past.
