So i have problem with power supply(AC/DC adapter)

i have Philips wireless headphones and a thing that is used to send signal to my headphones doesnt have a power cable.
It requires 8V 200mA, but i have adapter that has output 9V 200mA. My question is if it will work properly with this adapter, will +1V damage anything?

It might do. Why risk it? You could drop the volts down with a couple of silicon diodes (e.g. 1N400x), or else just buy a proper adapter. Welcome to EP!
