Hello, I'm wiring an old compressor that requires 20A/240 service. I have an ample supply of 10GA MC. The old cord was 12GA,3 wire SO cord with cracked insulation. Is it permissible to replace cord with 10GA, 3 wire MC? The compressor is not mobile and the fused disconnect is within easy arm reach. The MC has WHT, BLK and GRN wires. The BLK would be wired to one terminal of pressure switch and GRN to compressor chassis. Do I change color of WHT before wiring to other terminal?
