SN74HC14N hex inverter.

I bought these by accident thinking they were a different IC completely..

So what's the deal with these? what's the basic principal ?

Apply 5v and get a 0v out? - I can't find a circuit to demo this IC anywhere. - thanks for any input.

That would be consistent with the function table in the datasheet...

It is a logic gate that inverts the input and sends it to the output. (Actaully, 6 of them)
