Hi!

Does anyone know if there are kits available for kids based on PVT cells?

I would like to introduce solar power to kids aged 7~12+ with an easy to
assemble kit.

I know a sunflower exists: PVT cell on flower; flower on back of
electric motor; axle of motor attached to stem.

I need to find more like this.

If possible in Europe!

Thanks, Leo

Thank you all!

I'll have to to some browsing now, but I'm sure I'll find something!

IMHO
the solar powered oven would be the best project for the
under 12 crowd- it's inexpensive, the parts can be readily
acquired, and the technology is not too complex. You can
have the kids work in teams designing their own oven if they
are an enterprising bunch. You can add a magnifying
glass as a solar intensifier/concentrator or if they're
really smart egg head types you can even go into some
of the math used to design a parabolic reflector.
Of course testing the oven's ability to heat up a pizza or a
hotdog would be the project's highlight .... ;-P
I will pre-build and test some experiments and let my two neighbor kids
try them. If they don't get roasted or toasted or burn their own eyes
out I can safely use that experiment for the other kids ;-)

TY again,

I might suggest (if you have not already found it yourself)...
