I am looking for a small ram chip with a serial interface to hook up to an
atmega8 micrcontroller. The microcontroller only has 1KB of internal sram,
and I need to setup a first in last out buffer to log some data (4KB buffer
would be enough). The update rate is about 4KB/second. I have an external
serial flash memory chip (AT45DB series) but I don't know if I want to use
it as a ram buffer as they are only rated to ~10K writes.. :)

  2. Try FRAM from Ramtron

    Endurance 10^12 (a million x a million) in I2c (FM24c16) or SPI
