    Hello all,

I've been experimenting with electronics and microcontrollers for some time,
but I haven't experimented any with RF projects at all. So here's my
    question.

Last year, those little tiny RC cars were selling in the mall for something
like $20...which means the mall operator probably bought them for $10, which
means that they were probably manufactured for $5-7.

I am not building a toy like that (and if I did, I certainly wouldn't spam
everyone trying to sell them!) ... I'm simply needing a very basic
    radio-controlled switch, with probably a 10' range at the most...just a
single channel. No data or anything...just push a button on one end and
detect it at the other end. But it has to be very inexpensive.

So my theory is that because they were able to build something with motors
and 2-channel transmitter/receiver (plus all the nice packaging) for
(presumably) under $7, this should be doable. Of course, my quantities
    would be lower, but still...

If anyone has any ideas, links, resources, or other information, I would be
    very grateful.

    Thanks!
