simple led question

Hy i have power suply ac to 12v dc, that has led when turned on. Its a small 3mm led,that i woul like to replace with 5mm led.
Do i just neef to change the walue of the resistor, to be able to swich to biger one.

I cant upload pictures, something wrong with the site

A 5mm LED is not necessarily brighter, or more current-hungry, than a 3mm LED, so depending on your aims it may not be necessary to change the resistor value. I'd try the existing resistor.

The diameter of the LED has nothing to do with the resistor. What you need to know is what forward voltage and current it needs.

That said, if you replace it with the same color, you can very likely get by without changing the resistor.

you must be using the wrong file format

jpg's or GIFs no bigger than 1024 x 768 and no bigger than 100kb
