I pulled the ir tsop out of a satelite receiver and need to know which pin is what.
Pin 1 goes to the positive end of a capacitor, pin 2 goes to what I believe is a transistor or resistor, pin 3 looks like ground to me.
I think that pin1 would be power,pin2 is in/out.Am I correct.Any help would be great.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi there
    welcome to the forums :)

sounds feasible without knowing the part number to search for a datasheet

where else does that positive end of the capacitor go to ? can you trace it back to a say 5V power rail?
can you measure between there and gnd and see a fixed DC voltage ?

I figured it out.I plugged the receiver in and used my volt meter to
check for current. My guess was correct on pinouts.
    Thanks
