Hi,
I have this closed loop DC motor positon control system for a fluids valve:

input command---motor driver----motor+gearhead---feedback pot linked to gearbox.

Everything works fine. Now I need to set independant limits min ,max to the feedback pot, in order to
reduce the full range of rotation I already have- and in excess.
Is that simple as adding two pots at each end of the feedback pot or there is another
way, more suitable or elegant..
Thanks for your help!

There would be several ways to accomplish this, some involving comparators & stuff.
Simply adding trimmer pots in series with either end sounds like the easiest solution though, but has to be done at the command pot - not at the feedback pot.
You might also want to consider end-stop safety switches wired directly in series with the motor, using diodes across them to enable the motor to return. Just in case something goes haywire.
