Hi, it seems i've missed last months silicon chip with the hand powered
leds, anyone want to rent/sell/copy me the article or can I get it online ?
Thanks,
Steve.

There's not much to it. A hand crank connected directly to a stepper motor
shaft, and either a half, or full wave bridge rectifier, with as much
capacitance as can fit in the case, directly connected to the led. No current
limiting resistors were used.

You'll need to experiment with the handle shaft length to make it
comfortable, (there is no gearing).
There was some talk about using supercaps, but they recommended good quality
supercaps (from farnell) as the el-cheapo supercaps had nothing "super" about them.

The 1W luxeon led design was the same, but they said you NEED to use a full
wave bridge instead of a half wave. Again, no current limiting resistors were
used.
