Siemens Breaker

Hello
I just installed electric service to a building in back of my house , used
3 No. 2 and 1 No. 6 cable to a Siemens sub panel in my workshop , all work
was OK'd by a licensed electrician , put 125 amp. Siemens breaker in my
house panel and 125 amp for a welder in the outbuilding for an electric
welder , got the welder
hooked to panel and wanted to check for basic operation like panel light and
fan etc. , welder had been out of service for some time and I just wanted to
verify that the welder was still OK , was cycling the off on contactor that
actually makes it weld , everything went dark , checked in my basement and
125 amp. breaker at the panel was open , I reset the breaker and went ahead
with my test , everything seems OK with welder , I haven't actually done any
welding yet as the machine requires gas and water to operate , will have
these things hooked up very soon , was very surprised to have the breaker go
open as I believe the load is very small under the test condition , am
wondering if someone else has ever had this problem with a new breaker and
is there some type of a load bank other than my welder to verify the system
?
Max. current draw under full load of the welder is 100 amps.
Thanks
Phil L.
