Shut off timer

    Just wandering what the most efficient shut off timer would be for a project of mine. I have seen shutoff timer switches but i feel like there are more efficient options. Powered by 4 d cells so around 1.5 amp.

    Using a 8 pin PIC12F microcontroller with a small piece of code.

    If the timer draws 1.5 amp, how big is the load it is controlling?
