Should I check everything?

I need to replace two visibly damaged capacitors (50 vdc, 8700 μf) in an audio receiver. I don't see any other physical damage, and I've checked continuity, but should I check all components with my multimeter to be sure another problem isn't lurking? Thanks

They sound as if they are the main PSU smoothing capacitors??? If you can disable the DC output to the main circuit and test the DC voltage with new capacitors fitted - just to make sure everything is tikkety-bo - then do so.

You could also fit low ohms resistors (or simple incandescent bulbs) in place of the fuses (temporarily) to protect the amplifier circuit after power is applied.
