I picked up a Bridgeport CNC knee mill. The past owner says it ran, but never hooked it up. I want to test the servo motors in place. 72 volt 1250 watts. Can someone point me to a simple circuit that I can buy-build to test these motors, forward and reverse?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

If you just want to exercise the motors there are PWM controllers on ebay for ~$5.00, you would need to swap the output over for reverse, however.
Or you can make your own 555 version. http://www.discovercircuits.com/DJ-Circuits/simplepwm2.htm
You do not need the full 72 volts.
You can also just hook them up to a 12vdc Automotive battery to see them run.
