Hello,

I have a Finlux 72R100MC 16:9 100Hz TV with a small alignment error in
it's green.
Does any know how to access the service menu of this type of TV.
There are many other models with the same software like 72R3xx,
72X3xx, 72F3xx, 82R3xx, 82X3xx, 82F3xx. They are all the so called
quatro design.
The 72R100MC is the same as the 72R300MC++ but without the fire-proof
casing.

Thanks,
Rene Bakker

Strange to reply on your own message.

For the sake of the archive, in which someone else might search to
find
the service menu/service mode/service code of the quatro (mc2b
chassis) finlux TV sets, I'll give the answer. With some help of a
swedish, finnish and norwegian forum archive, a translation program
(those things really create
inpossible translations) and some trail and error. I got in.

1) Place the TV in stand by
2) Hold down the [-] (minus) volume button on the TV set, push [MENU]
button
on the remote and release both buttons at the same time.
3) Enter the following sequence of button pushes after eachother: [TV]
[TV] [TV] . Wait with the last until the TV has gone on.

If the TV goes on after the first [TV] button push something went
wrong.
Now the TV is on, you can try the following before retrying the same
and start at 1): Place the zoom setting of channel 1 in Ideal, or hold
down the [OK] button for sometime to restore the factory settings.

When you are in the service menu you will see the parameter V.AMP.
The controls to select other parameters are Up and Down. To change the
settings [<] and [>].
The [OK] button is to store the new value.
The [TV] button closes the service menu.
The [Sound] button will turn off the sound and after a second push on
the [Sound] button the configuration menu will appear. It shows the
version of the software and the installed options for your type of TV
set. Changing these setting might cause major problems because you
could enable things that are not
physically there.
The [Zoom] button will return to the service menu.
The buttons [0] upto [9] can be used to select the service menu
parameters.
The [PIP] button does something which I don't know what it is for.
The [Text] button will show you that there is a commodore 64 inside
for the games en somethings more.

The sequence to enter the service menu might also work for the mc2a
version TV set of finlux, which are also known as Skydesign.

How to do things with your set see:
http://myweb.accessus.net/~090/how2adj.html
Which states: SERVICE MODE WARNING:

Without proper documentation and training, you can probably do quite a
good job of messing up your television set, perhaps even damaging it.

Don't mess around with the service mode adjustments unless you know
what you're doing and have the service manual to guide you.

Once you enter service mode the first thing you should do is record
all the original values BEFORE you change anything! - This is the only
way to restore the television to it's original (factory default) state
should it become necessary to do so.

Regards,
Rene
