anyone out there used a usb to serial port adapter that works with DL900 and
NX panels? I have an old toshiba laptop but can't get DL900 to work on it.
keep getting invalid page fault when I try to load it. tried scandisk,
defrag, stripped it down to basic windoze and still no go so time for new
    computer I guess.

Don't bother listing the brand of USB adapter so someone can check if a
updated driver is available. Also, please don't include the build # for Win98
because that surely would not help.

Ummm, okay. What you wrote sounded like you couldn't get the adapter to work
with Win98, not that you couldn't get DL900 to run. Doh!

What are you gonna do with the Windows CD - re-install Windows?

A page fault is usually caused by a bug in the program OR a faulty memory

I'd suggest running Memtest86 to see if your memory is defective.

You could also try to download DL900 again since you might have a corrupted
    download... then re-install.

tried it on another old win 98 laptop and it does the same thing invalid
page fault only with different address. think it has something to do with
DMA. I gave up and ordered a new dell with a serial port.
