I ma installing a CaddX NX8 control panel in my new home and was curious
what the best way to wire sensors.

I have a 2000 square foot house with another 1700 square foot in the
basement to be finished later. I have 3 doors plus the garage door and some
    motion sensors.

My question is this: should I use a separate zone for each area or separate
zones by type window, door or motion? I think the first is better. Also I
assume it is best to use a separate zone for the smoke sensors.

Also if anyone has tips for how to quickly program the NX8 I would be
forever grateful. Thanks for your help in advance.

I have an NX-8E and can not seem to get the factory supplied software
(DL900) running on my laptop to direct connect to the control panel via the
RS232 cable. Has anyone had any success with this?
