Hello all :) total electronic noob here, with a question... I would like a remote starter for my car and am wanting to make it myself. First off I want to know if it's possible to make it myself. Secondly I'd like to know what specifically to search for. I've done a general "remote starter" search as well as "diy remote starter for car". The only results I get are for companies that do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

New cars require you to bypass and/or enable computer security systems, as well as get the computer to bring the ignition and fuel injectors online (as well as possibly other things) this varies from car to car and is usually not for the faint of heart or inexperienced...

With an old car (pre-computer) all you needed to do what give the coil +12V and jump/bridge the starter solenoid...

Oh yeah that sounds A LOT harder than I thought it would be...maybe I'll just wait for Christmas and ask for one to be installed! I am WAY too new to tackle this project at this time!! Thanks for the info though!
