scsi problem

i have a scsi drive that wont start up
when the data cable is connected
the other drives start ok.
drive model no - seagate st3550n.

You should first test to see if the controller is at fault, and properly set
up. The drive can also be tested in another machine that has a SCSI
controller.

This sounds like a drive failure. It can be the main drive itself, or the
circuit board on it. The board is not replicable, unless you have a
scrapper board to try it. The board firmware is exactly factory matched to
the media, so it is not recommended to use it permanently. The idea is to
get the data off, and replace the drive.
