Scantronics Installation Guide

Does anyone have an Installation Guide for the scantronics 9448 alarm
system they can send me?

The problem is, a friend has moved into a house already fitted with
the above alarm but it's got a tamper fault on it (she has the code
for the alarm - original owner provided it)

I've had a look at the alarm but I can't trace the fault. All the
PIR's are wired correct with what looks like the correct 24hour loop

My problem is that she wants it to work now but as I've been out of
the 'installation scene' for over ten years now I'm a bit rusty.

If I had the giude I could trace the problem and reset the system (I'm
talking a complete reset with more items added to it)

First of all re-solder the two fuse carriers this is a common fault (causes
tamper/pa alarms)(dependant on whether set or not)

to link out siren tamper link 0v to tr
to link out global tamper link across the two A/T connections

apart from the fuse carriers the fault is very unlikely to be in the panel
(usually siren tamper)

i will watch the thread in case you have any other questions.

you can d/l a USER manual at this url -- the panel is very basic and you
will be able to carry out most tests from customer mode.

ps also sometimes the panel tamper switch benefits from a spray with
switchcleaner
