I have an older used sawzall with the three-prong grounded plug, but before I got it some idiot thought he should cut off the ground prong......terrible idea

Can I fix it by splicing a new plug on or any suggestions?

    Thanks

Go to any hardware or home improvement store and buy a replacement three-prong plug. They usually come with wiring directions these days, but the guy in the store should be able to tell you how to wire it if you need additional help.
It's easy to do, don't be afraid of the job.

yeah if you are in the states, the gold colored screw takes the black wire, the silver looking screw takes the white and you guessed it, the green screw takes the green wire.
