Hello,

im new in this forum and i need some help.

I have 2223NW monitor that is obviosly overheating somewhere.

I got it with a "defect" didnt know what kind in the november it was working till yesterday.

The summer came and tems are 30-36 degrees celsius.

Lamp blinks few times and monitor goes to standby. (it works longer in the evening when temps are lower)

I looked at capacitors and by the looks of them they are ok (didnt remove them and test).

What other thing could be overheating or heat sensitive???

(If i would know what is overheating i might get some solder to it to spread the heat.)

I know this is noob like but help the man out. :)

Thx.

It Is midsummer and I am shivering !

What is the age of this device? If it has been in use for a few years it may be very dusty which will reduce the cooling. Try giving it a good blow out.

buy a can of freezer spray and target individual components
when it starts behaving ok then you know you have found the faulty component

freezer spray is the age old technician's best friend :)

The easiest other way is to purchase a can of "compressed air" from somewhere (I get mine cheap from an office supplies company).

If you invert the can, it turns into instant freeze spray.

Just be careful, the contents are flammable.

No, I'm not kidding you.

Like I said... "Be careful, the contents are flammable"

I would be visually inspecting the filter capacitors in the power supply first.

Allready checked them they look like new. As a mather a fact all power pcb looks like new no signs of heat like on some monitors.

That still might be the case i had dreambox ouance that had all capacitors visualy ok but would not boot.

After desoldering all of them and test them 20% was dead after changing it booted normaly and still working.

It is obviously very close to working or not working.

It can be heated with a hair dryer if working or cooled with a blast of air from a small fan to cool it if not working. The outlet from a vacuum cleaner is warm and perhaps could be utilised.

Go gentle on the heating.
