Firstly, I'm a complete elecronics novice, but handy with a soldering iron!

I'm trying to take an Xbox Wireless Receiver and wire it up directly to my PC's motherboard and case. The USB connection is easy as I will just wire it up to the USB 2.0 header on the motherboard, but what I want to do is wire up the sync button to my pc's reset button (as I never use it anyway).

From pictures I've seen online of the PCB, the sync button has 4 connections to it whereas the reset button on the PC case is just 2 wires. I don't know what each of the 4 connections to the sync button are for so don't know if the reset button can be connected in its current form or if it will need to be replaced.

The other thing that I'm hoping to do is remove the surface mount LED and wire it up to the HDD activity light on the case. I suspect this is straight forward enough...

Here's a picture of the top of the PCB - I haven't yet found a clearer/higher res image unfortunately:

Welcome to the forum.

Actually the switch has only one contact. The pins are connected in pairs. See this thread.
