reverse stand-off voltage

Hello All,

Can someone please explain what reverse stand-off voltage is and how
imp it is while selecting a ESD protection device (such as PESD5V0L2UM
from phillips semiconductors)?

RSV , is the Max reverse polarity it can handle.
anything above that can damage., selecting ESD protection should
be selected aprox 75% of what the component can handle unless the
ESD responds sharply at its ratings which in many cases they don't and you
shouldn't rely on that.
