I am currently working on building a 3 band equalizer and am having trouble finding information on how to do this. I have found many schematics online of the equalizer, but I cannot find anything that explains how it was designed.

This is one of the schematics I found and it is the one Iā€™m currently trying to analyze. I would greatly appreicate some assistance with analyzing this design, or even a new design in general. Thank you.

The best advice I can offer you, for building that kind of EQ, is to build an RC lowpass and RC highpass, then build an LC bandpass. You can then put a potentiometer on the output of each, mix it back into one signal, and (probably) amplify that. When I was experimenting with filters I did just that and it worked fine.

The national Semiconductor Audio Radio handbook has a good section on building filtters. That's what I used to build a 12 band graphic display.
