I have vacuum cleaner which starts when starting the tool connected to it. Now I want to start it without any tools, just switch on resistive load to start it. (This fits my needs best.)

Master-slave circuit in vacuum cleaner needs 40W consumption to start it (tested with light bulb). I calculated that resistance should be 1.3 kohm to generate that wattage. Did I calculate it right and is this something you would do yourself?

I planned to use 2*680 ohm, 50W resistors + heat sink. And 200 mA fuse.

    Thanks for your advice.
