Repairing a slide potentiometer

Hey lads, as you can see in the picture, the slide line is cut off twice. What's kind of material is this line made of?
I've heard pencil lead is just a temporary solution, so i don't think that'll do, but i'm an absolute noob so any advice is welcome.

That's a carbon track deposited on the surface and is created with a specific resistance for its length. You will not be able to repair the track (conventionally) but replacement slider resistors should be available.

Any markings on the one you have fitted?

It's a logarithmic 10kΩA stereo slide pot. I found a replacement online but they won't take paypal.. I don't trust random sites with my credit card :D The other sites only ships in bulk
Guess i'll look a carbon slide track or a resistive pen..

Given Paypal's security and credit card company bias towards the buyer I think that's a pretty poor decision making process.

You won't fix it without replacing it.
