I have a hand held scale that my buddy needs repaired. He told me the battery contacts are broken. Is this something that can be fixed?

You really need a picture, if they are laid out in series in a row you might be able to replace the contacts with normal AAA or AA contacts...

Heck you might be able to simply wad up some aluminum foil and make it work ;)
