I have temporarily disabled the directories:

http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/
http://www.repairfaq.org/REPAIR/whole/

We are trying to figure out why the traffic stats are so high.

For now, please use the menu at http://www.repairfaq.org/REPAIR/ which
links to the Drexel mirror site, or another mirror site.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Sam;

Much as I hate to say it, is it possible that TV manufacturers are doing it to
screw with your bottom line ?

I wouldn't put anything past them.

Well, for most crap Web sites wout there, increased traffic is considered
a benefit if they sell Ad space. For us, it would cost for GB/month.
I don't think it's any vast conspiracy. I think it's just that most of
the FAQs now are single large files compared to the segmented ones of
the old days. Do, each download is just larger.

In any case, you can still get to everything (exactly the same versions) via:

http://www.repairfaq.org/REPAIR/

It's just on the Drexel mirror site for now instead of RepariFaq.Org.

Thanks.

Hi Sam,

Have you ever figured out what the problem was/is?

Popularity I think. :)

The problem is that in the past, the major repair FAQs were split up into
small segments so if someone only wanted to find out about a specific
topic, they only downloaded a small file. Now, they are mostly single
large files.

I know there is software for splitting up HTML and Fil is looking into
it. For now, it will stay where it is.

Thanks for your interest.

Note: These links are hopefully temporary until we can sort out the excessive
traffic on Repairfaq.org.
