Remove broken wire from HV splitter?

Has anyone had success removing a broken off wire from inside an HV
splitter block? I am working on an RCA PTK195KB. When attempting to
remove the HV input wire the end of the wire snapped off inside (was
replacing bad flyback). Now if I try to insert the new wire the end
just curls and bends. I have a new splitter on order but it will be a
while. If removing the wire is possible I would like to know how.

Not with any success!! Another nice RCA/GE Service Feature!! The devices
used with the latest "Screanium" are even more aggravating!! Especially with
the high failure rate in some applications.

Yes, I know what you mean, I don't like this either. Coworker took a
bad RCA part and broke open to see what kind of clip design it is.
This connection is basically tiny brass one way slit plate that lead
wire goes through and get caught.

Simple to do this is twist the wire around & around till that wire
will break off at the nicks where plate made leaving enough room for
new lead to push aside old lead through. Pulling alone is risky like
what happened to yours. I suggest take a thin steel pin in a metal
rod to "crush" the broken off bit of wire through.

I prefer the rubber HV gaskets with loose twist-lock collars that
grips the cable insulation when locked. Simply turn to unlock and
pull out. Insert & turn other way to lock. I don't like the push in
collars like used on 205064 HV blocks. Too fiddly and easy to snap
off the collar latch.
