I want to control a number of table/standard lamps in my living room - switch them ON and OFF. Currently they are plugged into 13A wall sockets and controlled manually. .I know there are wifi sockets, but as I understand these are controlled remotely via a telephone app through the internet.

I have used wifi Tx/Rx units to control model trains - they usually operate on the 433MHz band. Would there be any way to control the wifi sockets from these Tx units?. Are there any wifi sockets that can be remotely controlled with a hand held 433MHz fob?

    Welcome to EP
I don't know about sockets with wi-fi links, but there are plenty of remote-controlled sockets available, e.g. these.
