Remote Controlled flashlight ??

I would like to be able to turn a flashlight on and off with a
wireless remote from about 20' away (or so). I figured if I get one of
those big plastic flashlights with the 6 volt battery there should be
room for whatever electronics are needed, but I don't know how to do
it.
I realize this sounds like a bit of a strange request, but it's for a
theatrical production in which we'd like to be able to turn a
flashlight on and off without anyone near it.
Any thoughts on either where I could find something like this, or how
to make something? It has to be pretty simple for me to able to do it
(limited electronics ability and knowledge).

For on-stage, 'remote' activation, your easiest, cheapest way, would be to run a couple (cheap, small diameter) wires from the two electrical contacts in the flashlight, to the operator at the ends of the wires. He could use a switch or just touch the wires together, to make the switch contact. If you're a genuine newbie to electronics, buy two flashlights, run the two wires from the offstage flashlight (take the bulb out, and attach the two wires to the socket the bulb fits in), and connect the onstage flashlight bulb, to the two wires. You'd only need batteries in the offstage flashlight. You 'turn-on' the offstage flashlight normally, the switch closes, the battery power goes through the two wires, to the onstage flashlight bulb, and 'voila', the onstage flashlight bulb lights.
It's pretty simple, just think it through. battery power offstage through wires, to the bulb contacts onstage. Good Luck.
