Hi there, im totally new to electronics, but need information and help on an
idea.

Say ive got a remote control car, i want to add other things to it, but i
want these to also work remotely, Any ideas how i would go about this?

On another note, saying that this remote control car can only last for 5
minutes, and takes 5 cell nickel metal hydride packs, is there any way i
could make it last longer than 5 minutes?

Thanks for any help

Hi,

This is a very envolved project even for an expert. Basically, scrap
all of the electronics in the car. Put in your own reciever circuit and
microcontorller. Scrap the remote controller down to the controls and
RF circuit - then add you own microcontroller/software to match the car.

I do this kind of thing all the time, I hack all the electronics out of
an 'el cheapo' remote car, install my own extra sensors and electronics,
and program it to go out on its own (see 'rodent simulation' project on
my website below).
